Aion Turns Free-to-play: What this Means for Players?

As we know two days ago, Gameforge Europe's provider of online games, and NCsoft announced that Aion will switch into free-to-play model in February 2012 in Europe. What this means for the existing and future players? Today, Gameforge revealed details about the account model for fantasy MMO Aion.

NCsoft's developer team just arrived Taiwan with important announcement: Blade and Soul will start open beta in Taiwan in the summer of 2012 and Aion's milestone like expansion 2.5 patch will release there in April 2011.

Aion – 2.5 Official KR Promotion Video (HD)

NCsoft has just held a press conference to reveal upcoming updates for Aion version 2.5, which will add much new content to the game. I am sure Aion fansites like Aion Source shall soon translate the details, here is some brief information from the press conference and what players in Aion can expect to see. By the way, the update's title seems to be called - Call of the God. The update will hit around late January in the Korean server, with no specific date yet. According to the press conference video, the game will be patched throughout 2011 until version 3.0 hit in October. Version 3.0 will apparently bring in the new housing system into Aion, as well as new mounts such as the magic carpet.

Aion 2.5 Officially Releases in Korea on January 26th

TERA just launched open beta in Korea and NCsoft today announced to bring Aion 2.5 to live server on January 26th. Although the 2.5 patch won't change the core of Aion, it revamps the game on several important aspects and more importantly, it's a prototype of Aion 3.0, which could drastically change the game.

Aion 2.5 Hits Korean PTS on January 6th

NCsoft announced the long-awaited Aion 2.5 patch will be deployed to Korean PTS on January 6th. The update includes a good deal of new contents and NCsoft today opens the download service to Korean players to ensure that they can login the game on Jan 6.

Aion 2.0(CN) Player Reached Level 56 and Broke A WTF Record

A few days after Aion 2.0 launched the open beta in China, we got a player who reached level 56 while the level cap of Aion 2.0 is set on 55. NCsoft hasn't officially announced Aion 2.5, there's been player who got 2.5's level.
