[Official Korean Site] TERA’s Loading Screens

Update #2: Thanks to new Korean translator, Kalsteine all the text on the images has been translated! Check the translations out because they're full of lore :]

Update #1: Some of these screenshots were featured on Frogster's European forums as screenshots of the week today, along with the following description:

Quote

This week, the screenshots presented are somewhat special, since it’s a selection from TERA’s loading screens. As you can see from this series of images, co-operation is a must between the different races: some will find mutual understanding in learning, others by sharing a meal, or working together on the same mission.

So at least it's officially known they are loading screens! Pretty awesome :D

Hey, TERA Fans! Thanks to TERA Fans member Cori's tip, an update to the official Korean site has been pointed out to me :] Just recently, the Korean CM Lime seems to have begun a new contest for TERA's Korean fanbase.

From what Cori and I can tell from google translate, the contest features TERA's "hidden loading screens" (?) and the CM team is looking for funny captions to go along with the pictures. 20 winners will receive Starbucks giftcards.

Hopefully we will have a proper translation of this article soon, but until then, check out the awesome pictures below! I'll keep you updated on a possible translation!

Summary of the Enhancement Crystal System Discussion

Example of an enhancement crystal and the slots you can place them in.

Ello, TERA Fans! Today we have a new translation from the official site, courtesy of TERA Fans translators, Locien and Meiellink! This translation is the summary of a discussion about the enhancement crystal system in TERA.

Enhancement crystals are found all over the world in TERA. They contain small stat bonuses and may be socketed into some of your character's equipment.

Check out what the Korean community has suggested to improve this system, and let us know what improvements you'd make!

Good day, this is Lime.

First of all, we'd like to thank all of the participants who took part in the discussion about TERA's enhancement crystal system over the past two weeks. This system lets you socket crystals that enhance your character's abilities in your equipment!

We have summarized all of your valuable opinions about the enhancement crystal system. We hope this will serve as an opportunity for additional discussion.

What would you like to see in TERA's enhancement crystal system?

1. Improvement to combinations and grades
We learned that almost everyone wanted to see more specific enhancements given by enhancement crystals.
To achieve that, a great number of people suggested that you should be able to raise the grade of crystals by combining multiple crystals to create new ones.

2. Aesthetic effects
We were told that players want to see a change in the color and visual effect of the pieces of equipment that have special or valuable crystals attached.

3. Upgrade to the slot window in the equipment window
We received comments saying that players want to see an upgraded character info window(P hotkey) interface, to accommodate the addition of crystal slots for accessories, shoes and gloves.

4. Enhancement crystal storage
We also received suggestions regarding convenience. We found out that players want to see the addition of an enhancement crystal-only bank storage and inventory bag in order to make sorting and storage easier.

5. Et cetera
We received various miscellaneous suggestions such as the addition of creating of enhancement crystals and the addition of element endowing.

We'd once more like to thank all of our discussion's participants for their useful suggestions. We hope that you will participate in the upcoming 39th discussion.

Thank you very much.

Summary of Group Duel Discussion

Good Morning, TERA Fans! Thanks to our diligent translators, Meiellink and Locien, we have a new translation from the official site for you today!

Posted around a week ago, this article was a summary of a discussion the Korean CMs had with the Korean community about TERA's Group Duel system.

Let us know, TERA Fans, what would you like to see in a Group Duel system? Enjoy :D

Good day, this is Lime.

First of all we'd like to thank all of you who participated in the discussion regarding group duels during the past two weeks.

The participants of the discussion gave us great feedback on how to make the Group Duel system a fun part of the game, no matter where or when you want to participate in a duel. We've summarized the most interesting suggestions for you.

What do you want to see in TERA's Group Duel system?

1. Bet amount restriction and receiving bonuses
We have been told that being able to set a lower limit for the amount of money that participants can bet in group duels and adding bonuses to the winning team will increase the incentive to participate.

2. Setting restrictions on the battle area and the length of the battle
In the current Group Duel system there are several points that have been pointed out as disappointing.
We're adding options to restrict the battle area and to change the time limit to change some of them.

3. Addition of different battle modes
We've received word that players want to see various battle modes in the group duel system. We were also told that in order to be more fun, various battle items should temporarily spawn during group duels.

4. Increasing the fun of spectating
You told us that it would be fun if duel spectators were not only be able to view the duel from a distance, but also be able to place bets on contestants between each other.

5. Addition of a balancing system
We received word that to make for a fair fight, it would be good if participants could use a balancing system when both parts agree to it, which would balance out the two teams for a fair fight.

Your passionate comments have definitely reached our development team. We're very much looking forward to the day when we can allow everyone to experience the world of TERA.

We would like to thank all of the participants of the past discussion and ask for your cooperation in the 35th upcoming discussion about our website's functionality.

Thank you very much.

Summary of UI Suggestions from the Official Korean Site!

Good Evening, TERA Fans! Back on March 23, Korean CM Lime posted a summary of the results of a large discussion topic among the Korean community on TERA's user interface (UI). We've got the translation for you today, thanks to our fantastic translation duo, Meiellink and Locien!

The summary touches on the popular idea to allow the game's UI to be user-moddable and very customizable. This is not the first time this idea has beenn discussed, as one or two intrviews with En Masse Entertainment have revealed that the company is considering allowing add-ons in TERA. How do you think a custom UI affects gameplay, especially in a game like TERA?

Let me know and enjoy the translation!

Good day, this is lime.

First of all, we'd like to thank everyone who participated in the UI discussion we held last week.

TERA's UI is designed to be as versatile as possible. By pressing a configured key you can hide it and by pressing the alt or escape keys you can switch in and out of the UI and movement modes.

In addition to the already existing UI we received suggestions how to improve it even further. Once again we would like to say that we're glad you participated in the discussion.

What kind of UI features would you like to see?

1. A wide selection of UIs
We've been told that people would like to be able to change the colors of the UI, adjust its opacity, have individual UI skins for each race and the ability to choose from different UI skins. We were also told that some people want to be able to create their own UI skins to use.

2. Basic UI layout change
We have been told that people want the basic layout to change a bit to be easier to see. Many of you have suggested possible improvements.

3. A UI with only the most important information
We've been told that people would like to see a new UI mode, similar to the "hidden UI mode" (toggled with Ctrl+Z), showing only the most important information. In addition to this it has been suggested that you should be able to switch through several UI modes with a simple press of a key, so that you will be able to use the most appropriate UI in accordance to the situation.

4. Comments about specific parts of the UI
There were a lot of players who commented on specific components of the UI.

- Being able to adjust the size and opacity of the HP and MP gauge. It was also
suggested that different classes should have differently colored MP bars according to the nature of them.

- It was suggested that more features should be added to the compass to make it more useful.

- It was also suggested that more features should be added to the Homunculus window to make it
more versatile.

- It was suggested that you should be able to adjust the opacity of the chat windows.
(Changing the text color is already possible through the chat window options.)

- It was suggested that the shortcut UI should be improved further.

5. Being able to toggle UI with configured keybinds
There was a suggestion to add the ability to configure keybinds in the systems options to toggle various parts of the UI on and off more quickly.

Due to the overwhelming response we've received, it's impossible for us to summarize all of your suggestions, but we're grateful of your participation in the discussions because it helps us understand what you want to see and what we need to reconsider ^^

Once again we would like to thank you for your contribution in the discussion. Next up is the 31st discussion which will encompass character growth, we hope you will participate in it.

Thank you very much.

If you haven't taken a look at TERA's UI recently, you can find screenshots and information on the current UI in the TERA Fans wiki's User Interface article!

An Official look at the 3rd Korean CBT

Posted Image
Good morning, TERA Fans! Although the 3rd Korean CBT ended earlier this month, today CM Lime on the official Korean site posted a bunch of pictures and captions from the event.

Given that the times the 3rd KCBT was playable were in Seoul's local time, I didn't get to play as much as I'd hoped to. However, these pictures are truly fantastic and even without knowing what the captions say, they seem to embody a lively and fun beta test!

The original article is extremely picture heavy so I won't duplicate it here as I wouldn't want to slow down anyone's internet connection too much :] You can find all the lovely pictures right here, though! Certainly worth checking out!

Summary of Important Suggestions Translation

Good morning, TERA Fans! Today we have the latest news from the Korean site translated! This article is another summary of suggestions the TERA team has been getting from Korean players on their discussion board.

This article was translated first by Meiellink into Japanese, by Locien into English, and then edited by me.

Good day, this is Lime.

Thank you for your interest in TERA and for always supporting us as we develop the game.
We are grateful for all of the suggestions that you've sent us these past two weeks through the discussion board.

We've gone through all of the suggestions you sent us, multiple times and put together a summary of your valuable opinions. We hope for such great participation in future discussions.

Here is the summary of the suggestions we've received over the past two weeks.

[Game System and Controls]

▶ It was suggested that players should be able to collect raw materials for various items all over the world. These should be a variety of different items with many options.

▶ It was suggested that the game interface should be as extensive as possible.

▶ It was suggested that there should be informative class descriptions in the character creator so that there won't be any way a player can misunderstand the classes' role.

▶ It was suggested that in order to make movement more comfortable and quick, characters out of combat should be able to walk through characters in crowds. Currently, you cannot walk through other characters, they're solid out of combat and in combat.

▶ It was suggested that the capital cities of TERA should fit in with the rest of the world in appearance and in function. The cities should truly feel like capitals.

▶ It was suggested many times that the development team should focus on creating a very complete game.

▶ It was suggested that the current in-game font should be replaced with a more graphic font.

▶ It was suggested that players should be able to use new skills and gain effects depending on a group's class composition.

▶ It was suggested that sets of items should should have special set bonuses when a player equips parts of the set.

We'd like to remind you that all of your suggestions go right to developer, Mr. Blue.

In order to make TERA even more fantastic we're going through all of your suggestions carefully. We're counting on you to send more of your opinions in the future.

Thank you very much.

What’s in the box? Quiz! [Answered!]

Today, Lime posted a new quiz! This one was a bit more difficult for me to piece together, but I think I've got it! As always, if you think I've got it entirely wrong, do tell :3 We're at a slight disadvantage on this one because I can't translate the image, but we should be able to piece it together! Also, try not to look at the Korean comments for maximum fun!

The answer for this one will be revealed on Tuesday!

Also, as a side note, are you guys enjoying these? Every day one shows up, I'll try to piece it together, if so. Let me know!

Posted Image TERA Square it! Find the words that fit in the square below!

Posted Image

  • Because of "square", after entering the world of TERA, you may panic because your cursor disappears. At that point, if you press either the escape or alt key your cursor will reappear and you will enter the UI replace mode. (?)

  • "Square" operates the different methods of fighting in the game. For example, ranged classes must aim their cross-hair at the proper distance and direction of their target. (See below)

Posted Image

  • Short distance classes must move according to the direction and distance of the monster before attacking. (See below)

*Hint 1. Please refer to the beginner's guide ^_^

*Hint 2. It has four characters.
