Slayer and Berserker Class Previews

TERA-Europe.com released two new class previews, one for the Slayer and one for the Berserker. Check them out if you haven't already!

Berserker

Quote

In the second instalment of the class introductions we will address the powerful close-range fighters who wield heavy, two-handed weapons. We will begin with the Berserker.

In combat, those opting for the role of the Berserker will be completely dependent on their heavy armour and formidable two-handed axe. The Berserkers and the Lancers are the only classes in TERA which are able to use the strongest-grade equipment. While this does slow them down somewhat, Berserkers can block many blows with their battle-axe and allay the force of incoming attacks with heavy armour.

Despite his massive appearance, the Berserker is in no way a gentle giant. Berserkers are known above all for their merciless and devastating sudden attacks, which carve a path of destruction through the battlefield.

Not only individual opponents fear the gleam of his axe; with his Cyclone skill, the Berserker goes into a frenzy, striking large numbers of enemies with his whirling axe. The longer the Berserker concentrates on this skill, the more potent the attack.

Berserkers are also known for their battle cries, which demoralise even the bravest of foes, petrifying them with fear. As if that were not enough, the Berserker can even paralyse opponents within a radius of four metres. He then launches into a jump attack which, when carried out by an experienced Berserker, causes fivefold damage to foes already in a state of shock.

The Berserker’s attacks require mana points, which can be gained in battle through the execution of combo-attacks. The more successful blows the Berserker can land, the more powerful he is on the battlefield.

Often a battle cry and a mighty axe are the last things heard and seen by those who face a Berserker in battle.

Slayer

Quote

After the Berserker comes the Slayer class, whose weapon of choice is a mighty two-handed sword. In contrast to the Berserker, the Slayer carries a sword which is so enormous that it can only be held with the support of two hands.

Despite his hefty weapon the Slayer’s armour is relatively lightweight, much like the armour favoured by Warriors and Archers. This means his agility is less affected than the Berserker’s and he can dodge oncoming attacks by dropping and rolling sideways.

Thanks to the extensive range of the Slayer’s sword he is perfectly adapted for taking on large groups of opponents, which he can inflict massive damage on in one fell swoop. Using his Whirlwind skill the Slayer is also able to dispatch droves of smaller enemies with the speed of a rushing gale.

When a Slayer happens upon a single opponent he concentrates on his overhand strikes, which can bring down even the largest and strongest of foes. Like Berserkers, experienced Slayers can mete out fivefold damage upon opponents already brought to their knees.

Another trait shared with the Berserker is the heavy reliance on mana for the most powerful skills. Using combo-attacks and repeated strikes the Slayer gradually builds up strength and can then use his most powerful attacks, sending foes reeling to the ground.

The Slayer is able to utilise additional skills, which, for a few seconds at least, allow him to execute his attacks without losing any mana. The Slayer also possesses skills which temporarily increase his speed. These, together with his dodging roll, quickly bring enemies within the range of his deadly weapons.

What do you think of the previews, TERA Fans O:?

Class Overview- Elementalist

Good Evening, TERA Fans! Tonight, as we conclude our series of class overviews, we're featuring the often misunderstood Elementalist class.

Keep in mind that it's been stated a few times by developers that they hope to greatly distinguish Elementalists from Priests in the future, so this class is likely to change quite a bit!

This description was originally translated by Meiellink into Japanese, then by Locien from Japanese to English and edited by me!

Enjoy! :turned:

Elementalist
The Elementalist communes with spirits and uses their power to support allies.

This class has various abilities to boost the power of their allies. Elementalists spontaneously use the power of spirits to support their allies and incapacitate enemies.

Elementalists are very fragile by nature as they only wear light armor, therefore their strength lies in seeking aid from spirits. Elementalists observe battles from afar and react according to the situation. It takes a lot of practice to develop this intuition.

Elementalist Abilities

01. Mana Boost
Allows MP to recover quickly. However, if you get attacked during MP recovery, you will lose the MP recovery status when you use another skill.

02. Elemental Shot
A basic ranged attack skill with the ability to hit one target.

03. Essence Leech
An absorption skill. Absorbs the health of enemies within its range and restores the MP of allies.

04. Healing Wind
A close range healing spell which heals the Elementalist and the allies in its proximity greatly.

Class Overview- Mystic

Good Evening, TERA Fans! Tonight, as we conclude our series of class overviews, we're featuring the often misunderstood Mystic class.

Keep in mind that it's been stated a few times by developers that they hope to greatly distinguish Mystics from Priests in the future, so this class is likely to change quite a bit!

Class Overview- Priest

Happy Saturday, TERA Fans! This weekend, we're featuring the priest class description from the Official Korean website :]

This one seems to give quite a bit of information and even some lore, so personally I really liked it! No bias towards priests, or anything! :D
