It's worth noting that Bluehole Studio announced that there would be 62 new class skills introduced in this beta, however, the images they've released only show 41 skills.

A message came from a Korean forum that an NCsoft engineer leaked some information on the legendary new instance for Aion 2.0. According to him, the new instance has been specially designed for fun and the importance of Abyss and PVP is paid attention to, as well.

Good afternoon, TERA Fans! Thanks to our wonderful translators, Meiellink and Locien, we not have a translated version of the in-game world map. Keep in mind that this map is a direct translation and that names will almost certainly be changed as localization goes on.

Also, while Locien was translating the map, he pointed out that some zones were noted as being territory that is always owned by someone (such as the cities, like Velika) and some were labeled as "guard" zones. Do you guys have any suggestions about what that could mean O:?

Good morning, TERA Fans! I know I promised this would be up last night, but I finally just ran out of energy Dx

Anywhoo! Today I have some more screenshots, video and commentary from my little Human Slayer's time in the starter area, The Garden of Dawn! Let's start out with a little Slayer demonstration (The important thing to pay attention to is the mechanics here!)



Some notes on the video!

• The beginning of this video shows me gathering an item for a quest.
  
• Check out the huge swing range on Slayers!
  
• It's possible you don't get this from the video, but given my character's attack speed and reaction time, she even feels a bit heavy.
  
• The dodge skill has gained a three second cooldown.
  
• No matter how hard down I hold the button, Whirlwind doesn't seem to charge like it did in the FGT.
  
• In this video, Whirlwind caused a true knock back and stun 1 out of 6 times.

So, I did see some changes in the slayer class, but overall it's the class it was in the FGT, moderately slow, hard hitting and lots of fun.





And now, I have more screenshots 8D! I have some pretty pictures of the Garden of Dawn, my character showing off idle animations, more popori females, a high elf male and a female Aman!













One more thing! As you may have seen around, around the Garden of Dawn there are some nodes for gathering that are like swarms of fireflies. When you collect them, your character produces a net and starts swinging it around, very cute!

TERA : Announced for Western Audiences

We’ve all known about the Korean version of Bluehole Studio’s upcoming MMORPG TERA for some time now, but details on a Western release were scant, if not entirely unavailable. That is, until today.

Bluehole Studios has announced the formation of a new publisher, En Masse Entertainment, whose sole task is to focus on bringing Korean MMOG’s to the west, with their first project being the highly anticipated TERA: The Exiled Realm of Arborea.

En Masse will debut the game at this year’s GDC, and has set an early 2011 release date for the Western version of the game, while the Korean version is set to launch sometime this year.

Aion announced that they will publish its official magazine. It's a digital-only magazine that published every 4 weeks and the first issue will launch on March 26, 2010. Every issue will include an exclusive in-game item. The pre-orders are available for players in Europe and US now.

You may have already noticed, but today, TERA Fans has gained a developer tracker! This wonderful little contraption is designed to catch any and all staff posts on the forums over at tera-online.com so that you can easily find what the Bluehole Studio and En masse Entertainment staff are saying! You can discuss their individual posts as each comment a developer makes will generate its own thread in the developer tracker.

Dear Diary- I mean, TERA Fans,

Today at 4:00 PM Seoul time (which is 1:00 AM Central D:), the third Korean beta test began! Or... it kind of did! At about 4 PM in Korea, players who were spamming the "game start" button, including me, began to download Game Guard.

If you're not familiar with it, Game Guard is a program used by many MMOs in attempt to protect the game against all kinds of rule breaking. Whatever your opinion of it, for better or for worse, at this point TERA uses the program.

Once that was done installing, I was able to enter the game, where I quickly noticed that there seemed to be only one server for all 20,000 testers! I am not sure if this will change, but for now there is only one selectable server. Upon entering that, I tried to make my way to the character creator, disconnecting from the server a few times on my way.

Followed by some messages on the Korean Bulletin Board, the game was taken down for emergency maintenance at least twice. I took a little break while waiting for it to come back up, but eventually I stayed in game long enough to get a good bit of female human character creation recorded! While I was hoping to get more, here's what I was able to get before the game went down!



I'm sorry for the early cut off, but I was interrupted as the game has gone down for an hour long maintenance period. :( When it comes up next I'll get a nice video of male Castanic creation!
