I wanted to create a thread to discuss them because I am a little confused about the nature of these classes myself.

As far as I can tell, they are the tanks. Their main purpose being to divert aggro and damage. It might be a no brainer. But because of the title of the class, does that mean we only get to use a lance and a shield as weapons? Maybe this makes sense so that people don't deviate from a standard play style. At the same time, it feels like this sort of limiting doesn't entitle the player to make mistakes and be creative in how they play the game.
Perhaps it's not a bad thing, though. Explicitly defining the role of a class as such can help the average gamer succeed. Much like when you play a fighting game, there are different characters for different play styles.
The only thing I see separating this tank class from any other tank is the possibility for its playstyle to involve blocking and deflecting.

I'm having trouble understanding if this is a DPS class or something else. It seems to be the case. The equivalent of a rogue in WoW or an assassin in Aion. But when you look at a class like the berserker, maybe another model is evident. Perhaps it's specialty is to divert aggro and dodging the attacks from belligerent mobs.

The spellcaster. No nonsense here as far as i can tell.

The healer. Durr.

Upon looking at this class, I re-examined the warrior class. Maybe the berserker is the DPS class and the warrior is another kind of tank. As opposed to being the tank that simply absorbs the attacks from mobs, maybe the warrior uses its speed to avoid damage, while still diverting aggro. That would define the berserker as the ideal DPS class.

Okay. At this point, I'm just lost. How the hell does this differ from a lancer other than the weapon of choice? And what exactly does a better sense of judgement bring to the table? It's as if Bluehole is saying that they're denying players, who play other classes, the ability to make good decisions! As far as I can tell, it's just a tank with a different name.
The only potential difference I see in these descriptions is that the slayer, as opposed to deflecting or dodging attacks, simply takes the damage. Toe-may-toe, toe-mah-toe.

The ranged DPS class. Simple enough. Much like the spellcaster, their specialty involves dealing lots of damage while staying out of range of the opponent.

It sounds to me like a nerf-buff class with an elemental twist. I guess their style of play is weakening an opponent stat-wise until they can be eliminated with their feeble strikes. It would make sense and define an interesting role in combat. But in that case, calling it an elementalist sounds like it would limit the nomenclature for their spells. Or maybe not. If I'm on the right track, then this possibily has the most promise out of all these classes in bringing a new gameplay "element" har har.
From what I can guess from these small blurbs, lancers, warriors, and slayers are 3 different ways of spelling the same word: tank. Berserkers, archers, and sorcerors are all the typical DPS classes. Priests are the healers, and elementalists are the buff-nerf class.
Maybe there's something I'm missing with this promise by Bluehole for a combat system that defies the paradigm of "pointing-and-clicking" to attack. It honestly sounds like nonsense when I read the descriptions. In short, I have a way to go before I am to be won over by them.
